Final Fantasy 13

Ah, felt guilty about lack of helpful FF13 material... and since I do have the guidebook, why not post something a little helpful? Let's see... flick... flick...

Here we go, something useful that I haven't actually read that much about on the interwebz.

Those freaking ratings that you get after every battle.

I don't know if its the same for everyone else but for me, winning a tough-as-ass Final fantasy boss battle makes me feel good. After all, I've just spent the past 20+ minutes mashing at my controller, and now I don't have to mash anymore AND I get to continue playing a game. It's pretty much win win.

And then they bring the ratings on (this is only a baby rant since I got over the rating thing half way through the game and Lighting is in it so, whatever right.) - and then they bring the ratings on and its like I get dissed for failing at life(/low rating it up for no reason). I didn't even know what the freaking stars were given out for!

Hence - the usefulness of the guidebook that I read after finishing the game. Sigh.

Anyway here goes:

Every time you enter a battle your rating is an automatic 5-stars which equates to 10,000 battle points.

It decreases the longer you stay in battle.

If your characters are geared up and your opponents have weaker stats you'll be expected to end the battle quickly (Target Time), failure to do so results in a decreased number of points and, you guessed it - a lower post battle rating.

Pre-emptive strikes provide a 20% bonus.

The rating actually holds quite a bit of importance (who knew) on what and how much the enemy drops in loot at the end of the battle.

  • Thought about posting a super detailed would-be rival to the FF13 guidebook.
  • Decided against it for fear of workload.
  • Googled Lightning instead.

I think I did us all a favour tbh. She's Lighting freaking Farron.

You're welcome.
