Wondergirls vocalist Ye Eun goes head to head with an antifan on twitter who was trying to bash her intellect due to mention of the Wondergirls'/ Wondergirls fans' 'third-world-level' English skills.
Unfortunately for this would-be basher (who goes by the Twitter handle jen_shwa) , Ye Eun is more intelligent than she is. Not only is she a well loved singer and member of a popular Korean girl group, Ye Eun is also reported to be a honour student at her University.
The basher's main point is that the Wondergirls are only able to get away with their "bad English" due to the majority of their fans being unintelligent and from third world countries (Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines are mentioned specifically.
Ye Eun's response to this is both profound and impressive as it shows nothing but love and respect for both her group mates, her self and most notably, her fans. Her most poignant statement is that intelligence is not merely based on how one speaks but also on what one chooses to say.
This is something that everyone dealing with second language learners should really take in as just because someone happens to have a strong accent in one language while attempting to speak another does not make them in unintelligent in any way.
Ye Eun follows up with how proud she is of her fans and the countries from which they come from.
