0 Fanfiction: [Wondergirls] We got what? - Chapter Four

Chapter Four
==
“Welcome to another episode of... We got married! Today we’re welcoming some new faces in the commentary studio as well as some fresh faced new couples.”

Yoobin and Sunye sat excitedly at the studio as streaming footage started coming through on their screens.

“Nervous?,” Sunye asked.

“Of course,” Yoobin nodded. “Today we married off four younger sisters. Not being nervous would be too weird.”

==

Ye Eun took the balloon Sunmi was holding out for her with a hand that she just wished wasn’t shaking so obviously.

“Sorry I’m late,” she heard her nervous voice say. “Have you been waiting long?”

“Uh uh,” Sunmi answered. “Besides being late is ok, you’re buying me lunch right?,” she added with a laugh.

Ye Eun happily agreed as she tried to get her thoughts under control.

‘What the heck is wrong with me?,’ she thought to herself. ‘Three years of living with this girl and I was fine, now I’m starting to think I might have feelings for her and I can hardly carry out a conversation! ...Even worse, I think I might be carrying out the conversation like a love-struck teen!’

“Something wrong unnie?,” Sunmi asked as she hooked her arm with Ye Eun’s. “You look a little nervous. I know I am so very pretty today though,” she added jokingly as she pulled the older girl along.

Ye Eun could only nod and hope she looked a lot more confident than she felt.

==

After a few moments of catch up talk during which Sunmi happily chatted about her life as a student and Ye Eun caught up the younger girl with idol ‘shop-talk’ focussing on enjoyable performances and interviews the two reached a cosy little tea shop that Sunmi said she had been wanting to try out.

“Is this ok with you unnie?,” Sunmi asked before they went inside.

“Of course,” Ye Eun replied as she pushed the door open and led the girl to a table with a view of the nicely decorated shop.

“I can see why you wanted to try this place Sunmi,” Ye Eun said after they’d ordered.

“Oh?,” Sunmi wondered aloud. “I don’t remember telling you I wanted to come here unnie.”

“Well its naturally elegant” Ye Eun began as she motioned to the simple design and natural coloured wooden furnishings. “But it has cute and pretty enhancements as well,” she added as she picked up the intricately designed menu, which kept the same natural colours but was covered in cutesy character drawings and motioned to the colourful posters that adorned the walls.

Sunmi smiled as she listened to Ye Eun’s shy explanation before scratching her chin in thought.

“I guess that’s true,” Sunmi admitted. “But with naturally elegant and cute and pretty, it kind of sounds like you’re talking about you.”

==/==

In the studio.

“Yaaa that Sunmi,” Sunye said. “Who knew she was such a charmer?”

“She must have learned it from me,” Yoobin said with a charming smirk, causing the other commentators to laugh.

“The question is,” Sunye replied with a certain tone. “We don’t know if she’s serious or joking. She probably learned that from you too unnie!”

“Well whatever the case,” one of the commentators began. “At least it looks like we picked the right assistant commentators for today!”

==/==

Meanwhile back at the cafe...

Ye Eun was spared the brunt of her embarrassment due to Sunmi switching her unplanned sweet comment right back onto her due to the arrival of their teas.

Unfortunately, the reprieve didn’t last long as a mission envelope arrived right after.

Their waitress along with the teas, had also delivered a cute miniature cake with a single heart shaped candle on the top.

“Happy first day anniversary!,” she had said before walking away giggling and saying something about ‘puppy love’.

Swallowing rather meaningfully, Ye Eun took the envelope and opened it nervously before reading it aloud.

“Dear Ye Eun and Sunmi, celebrate your happy first day anniversary by feeding each other the cake sweetly.”

Sunmi, though she also seemed a little nervous about the entire thing, was also partly amused.

Ye Eun on the other hand was left with rather disconcerting thoughts.

‘There’s no fork here,’ was the first thought that came to her mind. ‘Why is there no fork, there’s Sunmi but there’s no fork. Am I supposed to eat the cake off Sunmi? ... From Sunmi! I meant from Sunmi! And now I am correcting myself in my own head. That can’t be a good sign.’

After a few moments of willing a fork to suddenly teleport itself in front of her, Ye Eun ultimately found out that no, she did not have Jedi powers and no, she wasn’t about to gain any at the cosy little tea shop.

It was at that point that her thoughts turned a little more desperate.

‘I never knew cake would be against me, why have you left my side cake? I thought I could count on you even through the toughest times!,’ she thought to herself.

All that thinking however, left her without the ability to see what Sunmi was doing until it was too late.

==/==

At the studios.

“Oh my gosh!,” Yoobin yelled out as she and Sunye grabbed each other excitedly.

“Sunmi is so forward!,” Sunye said as they jumped up and down.

“Has she been taking dating lessons?!,” Yoobin added. “I’m about to faint!

==/==

When Ye Eun had focused her attention back to the younger girl sitting in front of her Ye Eun’s mouth suddenly turned dry.

Sunmi was obviously a girl who refused to let herself be bothered by the no-fork situation.

“You better hurry up and eat the cake unnie,” Sunmi said softly. “The icing is starting to melt on my fingers.”

Ye Eun hesitated for a moment. It seemed to her that since no thoughts were coming to her head that her brain might have actually fainted.

It was at that point that she suddenly found a whole new meaning in finding out that her body had a mind of its own.

Ye Eun slowly leaned forward and parted her dry lips slightly and she felt Sunmi slide her cake topped two fingers into her mouth.

“Eat cleanly unnie,” Sunmi said with a cheeky tone in her voice. “I don’t want to be sticky.”

==/==

“Is it over yet?! I can’t watch!,” Sunye said as she and Yoobin semi covered their eyes as they couldn’t tear away from the sight they were seeing on the monitor.

“I’m gonna pass out!,” Yoobin added. “Is it Ye Eun’s turn yet? Is Ye Eun going to do it too? My younger sisters are growing up so fast!”

==/==

Not knowing what was going on anymore, Ye Eun seemed to switch onto automatic.

As soon as she’d finished licking the cake off Sunmi, she wiped her hands clean with antibacterial wipes she kept in her bag causing the younger girl to begin laughing softly.

The laughter soon stopped however as Sunmi’s breath caught in her throat.

Being cheeky by nature, especially in front of her unnies Sunmi merely thought it would be fun to tease Ye Eun a little. She seemed a little preoccupied with something else and Sunmi wanted to bring her thoughts back to their little ‘date’. She never actually expected that Ye Eun would return the favour.

Yet there the older girl was, sitting in front of Sunmi, not quite meeting her eyes and on her fingers she held out a spoonful amount of fluffy, sweet, icing covered angel food cake.

Sunmi paused for a moment before smiling and lunging at the cake surprising both herself and Ye Eun.

Even more surprising than that was that at that moment both girls were thinking the same unexpected thought.

‘Now I know why they call it Angel Food...’

Chapter Three
==
The following morning, Ye Eun and Sohee were finally able to have a moment alone in the kitchen. The night before was full Yoobin and Sunye overexciting themselves over the recent turn of events and it was a little difficult to discuss what was actually going on.
--
“You move quite fast Sohee,” Ye Eun commented as she spotted the girl cutting up fruits.
“I don’t know what you mean unnie,” the younger girl replied as she offered Ye Eun a piece.
“Two nights ago we were merely discussing how much I really missed Sunmi and now you’ve arranged our marriage?”
Sohee took a moment to wipe her hands clean of sticky fruit juices before placing both on Ye Eun’s shoulders.
“That’s just how love works unnie!,” the girl proclaimed with a serious nod before giggling a bit.
“Hey, hey! Nobody said anything about love! There are ... feelings. I admitted to feelings ok?”
“Uh huh. Feelings of love.”
Ye Eun couldn’t help but poke her tongue out at the teasing Sohee.
“You’ve been spending too much time around Hyun-A,” she said.
Sohee cleared her throat and pretended to be unaffected.
“Let’s not change the subject unnie. Besides you should really focus more on how you’re going to act around Sunmi today, her being your wife and everything.”
Ye Eun suddenly paled at Sohee’s advice.
“My wife?”
“But I ... I have no idea how to treat my wife! I’ve never even really dated before.”
“It’ll be fine, it’ll be easy! Just try to be romantic. The P.D’s will think you’re just putting on a cute show and Sunmi, well we all know she picks up what she needs to when she needs to.”
“But I don’t know how to be romantic! What if Sunmi gets the wrong idea... what if she thinks I want to you know... pounce her.”
“Do you?”
Ye Eun paused for two reasons. The first was that she needed time to think of what to say next and the second because all the blood had rushed out of her brain.
Sohee took the moment to grin like a cat.
“So you do? That’s so grown up of you unnie!,” Sohee said before breaking out into a fit of giggles.
“I never said I wanted to pounce her!,” Ye Eun said as her blush intensified.
“Not with words at least!,” Sunye said as she walked into the room. “I didn’t even know you had a crush on Sunmi, when did this happen?”
“Not you too Sunye,” Ye Eun said to their smiling leader.
“No need to let it get to you Ye Eun crushes are quite fun,” Sunye said happily. “I’m sure you’ll get used to it, after all you are getting married today!”
“As if I could have forgotten!,” Ye Eun said the nerves once again getting to her.
==/==
A few hours later and Ye Eun found herself wandering near the meeting place the we got married P.D had set up. She had arrived too early and currently found that she had nothing to do.
As she walked past several shops she couldn’t help but notice a certain theme that could be found in the stalls that were catching her eye, flower stalls, cute gift stalls, stalls with heart shaped balloons.
Ye Eun blinked twice as the balloon stall seemed to be walking towards her.
“What the?,” she asked herself as she fought not to take a step back. “Relax Ye Eun the balloon stall isn’t going to attack you,” she said to herself with a nod.
“Ye Eun!,” the balloon stall said. “It’s been a while!”
“Jo Kwon oppa? Is that you?,” Ye Eun asked in disbelief. “When did you buy a balloon stall?”
“Oh these?,” Jo Kwon said with a laugh as he mentioned to the near mountain of balloons he was holding. “They’re for my honey.”
“GaIn-unnie? Is it your anniversary?”
“No, I just thought I’d get them for her. To show her how I feel,” he replied with a smile.
“...feel.... love feelings?,” Ye Eun croaked out. She was still a little, well a lot uncomfortable with the subject as she didn’t know exactly what it was that she was feeling for Sunmi but she thought a good opportunity had arisen to talk a little more about the subject.
‘At least Jo Kwon oppa isn’t as likely to tease me,’ Ye Eun added in her head.
“Well no, I don’t think so. Not yet anyway,” the young man admitted. “But still, I like her and I’d like her to know that,” he finished.
Ye Eun thought about his advice as a frown started to etch itself on her forehead.
“But aren’t you worried that she’ll get the wrong idea? That she’ll freak out on you?,” Ye Eun asked.
“Well that kind of misunderstanding can be an issue,” he agreed. “But to be completely honest with you, I’d prefer that to having her think that I don’t care at all.”
As Ye Eun was left merely nodding to his last statement, Jo Kwon thought it was best to leave the girl with a supportive tap on the shoulder and a smile and wandered off to where he was meant to be meeting GaIn.
==/==
After getting her thoughts in order, Ye Eun made a U-turn and walked back to the meeting place the P.D’s had arranged with both her and Sunmi.
Walking towards it she suddenly found herself feeling a little déjà-vu as she saw a similar type of heart shaped balloon from earlier. This time however, there was only one. And attached to it, was a beautiful, smiling young woman.
Ye Eun paused for a moment as she took in the sight of Sunmi smiling brightly at her, her stylishly cut hair floating in the breeze.
“Ah,” Ye Eun whispered softly to herself as she felt a smile creep up on her. “This girl is going to give me trouble.

Chapter Two

Brown Eyed Girls apartment.
“GaIn there are little people in our house,” Narsha said as she took a look at the girls sitting in their lounge.
“I know that Narsha-unnie, they’re guests,” GaIn said with a sheepish smile before turning her attention back to Hyun-A and Sohee. “Sorry about that she gets all artistically angsty sometimes.”
“I can hear you!,” Narsha called back from her room.
“Right, ok so tell me about the gossip! Who’s in love with who?,” GaIn asked the girls.
“Yes, tell us all,” Jea said as she, Narsha and Miryo mysteriously appeared and took seats near GaIn.
“Jea-unnie... I didn’t even know you were home,” the younger girl said.
“Heard gossip, heard love, showed up,” Jea replied as GaIn
“Maybe this wasn’t exactly the smartest place to hold this meeting.”
“Of course it was! We like love!,” Miryo said.
“We love gossip,” Narsha corrected.
“We were just talking about the new couples for our show,” GaIn admitted.
“Who’s it gonna be?,” Jea wondered out loud.
“Wondergirls Ye Eun and Sunmi. The theme is friendship turned to love.”
“Are you kidding me?,” Jea continued.
“They’re casting teens again?! I’m of marriage age! Doesn’t anyone want to marry me off?!,” Narsha added.
“The theme could be age related nervousness turned to panic!,” Hyun-A said, her voice suddenly popping out from nowhere.
The older idols all turned their attention to her as Sohee mentally sighed and switched seats with the girl, effectively trying to save her from the rage she was about to encounter.
Much to Sohee’s surprise however, the brown eyed girls all broke out into easy laughter.
“I like you Hyun-A,” Jea said after a while. “You have guts.”
==/==
After the mini-meeting with the B.E.G Sohee and Hyun-A decided to split up in order to execute the next stages of their plans.
Sohee thought that it was dangerous to set up Hyun-A and Sunmi together as something ridiculous was more than likely to happen so she volunteered to meet up with Miss 4d herself leaving Ye Eun in Hyun-A’s hands.
“I hope unnie will be ok,” Sohee said to herself as she set off.
==/==
“Ye Eun-unnie! It’s been a while! I’ve missed you!,” Hyun-A said sincerely as she hugged the older girl.
“Hyun-A? I thought I was here to meet Sohee,” Ye Eun replied as she happily returned the hug.
“Change of plans!,” Hyun-A said before setting off right into, for Ye Eun anyway, ridiculous territory. “So unnie, could you come with me for a moment so I can get you married?”
“What?,” Ye Eun said as she blanked momentarily.
Hyun-A paused and scratched her head before repeating the sentence slower, enunciating each word.
“Could you... come with me for a moment... so I can get you married?”
“Saying it slower doesn’t help my understanding,” Ye Eun replied nervously causing Hyun-A to sigh.
“Hmm alright then,” the younger girl said as she convinced herself she needed to be more direct. “Me, Sohee and Korea are going to help you sort things out with Sunmi,” she finished causing Ye Eun to suddenly start blushing.
“How come the younger ones can say such things so easily?,” she asked aloud.
“Aww that’s so cute unnie you’re blushing!,” Hyun-A said as she stood up, ready to leave. “Ok so let’s go.”
“Hyun-A...,” Ye Eun began as she lagged behind. “I don’t quite understand...”
“Gosh! Ok since you’re making things a little hard let me show you how you’re supposed to handle the love thing. First you find someone to fall in love with. You got that part done right? Am I right?”
“Please stop winking at me Hyun-A...”
“Alrighty find someone, find someone,” Hyun-A chanted to herself as she scanned the immediate area. “Ah there’s a cute girl!”
Clearing her throat and striking her most confident pose Hyun-A yelled out to her.
“Hey I’m in love with you! That’s right you there, at the bus stop! The one preparing to run away... I love you!,” she said before turning back to Ye Eun. “See unnie, that’s how you do it. All straight forward and uncomplicated like that.”
Ye Eun stared at the scene.
“But... that girl freaked out and ran away,” she said.
“Yeah that’s true,” Hyun-A admitted. “But I’m not in love with her so that’s ok. I was only modelling the scenario. So can we go yet? Come on let’s sort out you and Sunmi. It’ll be fun. Like all romantic and stuff.
“Sort out… but Hyun-A … by any chance have you... gone retarded?,” Ye Eun asked semi seriously as she followed the younger girl. “Oh no why am I following you? Why are my feet moving of their own accord? Oh my God… am I retarded?”
==/==
Meanwhile outside a trendy cafe.
Sohee straightened herself out and prepared her convincing speech.
“Come on Sohee,” she said to herself. “It can’t be that hard. Just walk in, give her a hug, ask her how she’s been doing, tell her she’s getting married. No problems.”
Taking a final deep breath, Sohee pushed open the doors to the cafe.
“Well here goes nothing.”
However, before she could get to work scanning the crowd for her old friend, a flash of auburn hair suddenly flashed in front of her face.
“Sohee! Sohee are you ok?,” the familiar face asked as she hugged Sohee and proceeded to bounce up and down.
“Sunmi... you’re clinging.”
“Oh my pretty pretty Sohee! Sunmi has missed you!”
Sohee laughed one of her rare and truly happy laughs.
“It hasn’t been that long... but I’ve missed you too Sunmi. And I see you haven’t changed...”
Sunmi grinned back at her as she finally let go and led the way to their table.
“Ah maybe I have, maybe you just bring this out of me! So how come I never knew?”
“Knew what?,” Sohee asked in reply.
“That you’re in love of course!,” Sunmi said while flashing the victory sign.
The colour drained from Sohee’s face immediately.
‘How could she know that?!,’ she thought in her head before clearing her throat and attempting a fast recovery.
“Sunmi I love you, I’m not in love with you.”
Sunmi merely laughed in response.
“I know that! I didn’t mean to say that you were in love with me. I meant you were in love with Hyun-A!”
Sohee took a few of the following moments to think about exactly what she was going to say before going ahead and throwing the statement out there with all her might.
“What in the hell?!”
Sunmi nodded while taking a sip of her drink.
“I know right! Surprising! Well probably not for you since you’re the one doing the loving ... I just had a meeting with the producers and they were saying how it would be nice to also have me on the show to keep you guys company.”
Again, Sohee took a few moments to really think about what she was going to say.
“What... in... the hell?!!!!”
“Sohee, are you freaking out right now?,” Sunmi asked.
“Does it seem like I’m freaking out right now?,” Sohee replied as she lay her head on the table and waited for Sunmi to formulate a reply.
“Yes,” Sunmi said.
“I am freaking out right now!”
“Just relax ok Sohee? Breathe... relaaax.”
“You relax! Let me stick with the panicking!,” Sohee replied before reaching for her cell phone.
“What are you doing?,” Sunmi asked as she watched Sohee quickly find a number.
“Just hold on, I have to call her.”
“Your wife?,” Sunmi clarified.
“Be quiet!”
“Sorry... not married yet. Fiancée.”
“This isn’t about me! This is supposed to be about you!”
“Me? And Hyun-A?,” Sunmi asked aloud. ‘Hmm no that can’t be right,’ she added in her head.
“Huh?!,” Sohee replied incredulously. ‘No no no no no.’
“Hyun-A has feelings for me? That’s what this is about?,” Sunmi attempted to clarify although the situation didn’t quite make sense in her head.
“Umm... I... I don’t know,” Sohee replied. ‘I messed up I messed up I messed up.’
Neither girl actually noticed how quiet they’d gotten in the last couple of minutes until two others suddenly showed up to bring the fact to their attention.
“We found you!,” Sunye said as she and Yoobin ran up to the girls’ table.
“Tch. Young ones planning interesting things and not including us,” Yoobin added. “Actually hold on, we spent so much effort looking for you and you’re both just sitting there silently?”
“Yoobin-unnie, Sunye-unnie!,” Sunmi said as she was enveloped the two newcomers in a triple hug.
“How did you guys know we were here?,” Sohee asked, while in fact she was truly grateful for the interruption. ‘That conversation was not going my way,’ she thought.
“Huu huu huu, our powers can’t be underestimated Sohee!”
==
About a half hour before that...
“Where could they be?!,” Yoobin asked aloud as she rolled around her bed.
“Sohee?,” Sunye clarified as she read a novel from a seat nearby.
Yoobin quickly sat up and nodded before going back to rolling around.
“I know she’s meeting up with Sunmi because she left this note that reads unnies, I’m going out to meet up with Sunmi!”
“Unnie, there’s no way for us to know where they went. No one told us anything... it’s not like we have super powers or anything.”
“We do have powers! Powers of deduction! We are intelligent!”
“What are you doing with your cell phone?”
“I’m going to call Ye Eun to ask if she knows where they are.”
==/==
Back at the cafe...
“And that is how we got here,” Yoobin finished.
Sunmi gave her the thumbs up while Sohee gave the trio a disbelieving look.
“Ah since we’re all here we might as well go to the studio together,” Sunmi said as she gathered her things.
“What studio?,” Yoobin and Sunye inquired together, suddenly curious.
“The We got Married studio,” Sunmi replied casually and watched as her unnies’ expressions morph from ‘wow to WHOA’ in the same second.
“Who’s getting married?”
“We are,” Sunmi and Sohee said together. One happy, one full of audible sighs.
“To each other?!,” Sunye asked.
“And you didn’t ask our permission?!,” Yoobin followed before pointing at Sunye and then at herself. “She’s the leader, I’m the eldest, ask us first!”
“Just out of curiosity,” Sohee began. “What would you two have to say?”
Yoobin and Sunye looked at each other for a moment before turning back to their younger members.
“It depends,” Yoobin said.
“What colour are the bridesmaid dresses going to be?,” Sunye finished.
Sunmi gave out an excited squeal at the thought while Sohee lay her head on the table.
“At least you two aren’t likely to freak out when you find out Ye Eun-unnie and Hyun-A are getting married too,” she said.
“To eachother?!,” the unnies asked together once again.
“Ah this conversation hurts my head,” Sohee admitted before clarifying the couples. “Ye Eun/Sunmi. Hyun-A/Sohee.”
==/==
We got married studios – Meeting room.
Ye Eun and Hyun-A sat together waiting for the other members while the P.D got contracts ready to sign.
“Well are you excited?,” he asked the girls after the situation had finally been explained to Ye Eun.
“Totally!,” Hyun-A replied. “I love how you went with my idea of using me and Sohee as bait to get Sunmi to agree even though she’s on hiatus.”
“I... am also excited,” Ye Eun said rather blankly.
“Don’t worry about her,” Hyun-A said to the P.D “She’s just all love nervous and stuff. After all at any moment now Sunmi could...”
Then Sunmi walked through the door.
“... walk through that door... Sunmi! Who would have thought! Ahahahahacoughcough.”
“Hyun-A are you ok?,” Sohee said as she, Yoobin and Sunye followed Sunmi into the room.
The girls turned their heads in her direction as she ran to Hyun-A’s side and patted her back.
“... f-fine,” Hyun-A got out.
“I’m sure Sohee thinks so too,” Sunmi said with a laugh.
“Don’t make me hurt you,” Sohee said through her teeth as she grabbed Sunmi by the arm and forced her to sit next to her.
“It’s ok guys,” Hyun-A said as she sent a thankful look towards Sohee. “Too much trying to laugh and breathe at the same time.
“Well it’s great to have everyone finally here,” the P.D said when everyone had taken a seat. “As you all know we’ve been looking for new couples to fill in the slots for the coming season and since you guys are back in town promoting, this could be a good partnership for all of us. Besides you came at a great recommendation from GaIn and Jo Kwon and that particular couple is one of our most entertaining at the moment.”
Ye Eun looked at Sunmi as the word ‘partnership’ and ‘couple’ hung in the air.
In reply she got a bright smile and a small wave.
Ye Eun covered her oncoming blush by taking a sip out of the glass of water placed in front of her.
“You probably already know since you’re all obviously very close but the theme for the new couples will be ‘friendship turned to love’”
At that point Ye Eun took her turn to start coughing as she tried to force-swallow her drink.
“Unnie are you ok?,” Sunmi asked as she went over to the older girl.
“I’m fine...,” Ye Eun stated embarrassedly.
Hyun-A and Sunmi looked at Sohee expectantly.
“As if I’d make the same bad joke,” the girl huffed under her breath.
The P.D laughed to himself as he happily thought that no matter what happened, at least the Wondergirls would put on an interesting show for the fans.
“Right,” he said. “Here are the contracts for this season, we have the names of the couples at the top, all you have to do is sign the paper.”
“Hold on a moment,” Sunye interrupted as the other girls picked up their pens. “They can’t get married right now, I’m not in my bridesmaid dress.”
“Don’t worry, we’ll have a special on that at some point,” the P.D replied with a laugh. “Actually, if you’d really like to participate we’re also looking for MC’s.
“Pick us!,” Yoobin said happily as Sunye nodded excitedly.
“Well that’s great,” the P.D replied. “This is turning into an idol show already! So we’ll just get the contracts signed and we’ll see you all for the filming of the first episode tomorrow.
“Great!,” the girls all replied with various degrees of enthusiasm before the reality sunk in.
“We’re starting to film tomorrow?!”

Chapter One
--
“The Wondergirls have arrived home! After a gruelling tour schedule in the U.S, the five member group has finally arrived back in Korea for upcoming promotions and performances...”
The girls had just returned to their Seoul apartment, with most of them automatically going into their rooms. The loud news report coming from the lounge television however, quickly brought Ye Eun out of hers.
“Ahh Sohee do you really have to be watching TV right now?,” Ye Eun asked their youngest member.
Sohee, who had currently taken to curling up on their couch with her head under one of the pillows merely groaned out a short response.
“Tv?”
“You turned it on,” Ye Eun replied as she sighed and reached for the remote, thinking how tired Sohee must be.
“Oh that. Yes. I turned it on for no reason and then I was too tired to turn it off,” Sohee said.
Ye Eun switched the television off and took a seat next to her.
“You are like a cat,” Ye Eun said with a sad smile. “Sunmi was right.”
Sohee sat up for a moment and looked thoughtfully at her unnie.
“You miss her don’t you?,” she asked the older girl.
“Of course I do,” Ye Eun replied. “Don’t you?”
Sohee nodded slowly.
“I miss her,” she conceded. “And I know Sunye-unnie and Yoobin-unnie miss her too. But you miss her.”
Ye Eun swallowed the frog in her throat as she tried to avoid eye contact.
“I think you burnt yourself out Sohee, maybe you should get to bed, she said.
“Well you’re right about that unnie, you only want to take care of me so I’ll do as you say,” Sohee replied with a yawn as she made her way up off the couch and started wandering to her room.
Ye Eun was almost able to breathe out a sigh of relief until Sohee suddenly stopped. A short moment passed between them. It was as if Ye Eun’s silent prayer to have Sohee drop the subject made the younger girl a little hesitant to pursue it further.
Unfortunately for Ye Eun, recent events caused Sohee to care a little too much.
“Ye Eun unnie?”
“Hmm?”
“I’m right about Sunmi.”
Ye Eun paused for a second before a surge of honesty escaped through her lips.
“I know.”
She merely hoped it was the tiredness speaking.
==/==
Sohee nodded to herself before continuing to walk back to her room. Her body was tired but she couldn’t stop her mind from drifting to Sunmi, to the memories they shared to the laughter, the teasing, the happiness and the tears.
Memories from their trainee days flashed through Sohee’s mind like a slideshow and she felt old emotions invade her senses.
“I understand why you’re scared Ye Eun unnie,” Sohee said as she consciously stopped her hand from landing over her heart, forcing it to messily run through her hair instead. “Feelings are dangerous.”
==/==
“What the heck was that about?,” Sunye asked Yoobin as they thought about what they had just seen transpire between the other two members.
“No idea,” Yoobin replied. “It was kind of emotional. I felt... emotions. Did you feel emotions?”
“I think everyone is feeling emotions right now,” Sunye said amusedly as she caught Yoobin’s look.
“Even you?,” Yoobin asked with a wink.
“Oh be quiet.”
“Unnie this and that when there are cameras but when it’s just us it’s ‘be quiet’? Oh Min Sunye what a sly fox you are!”
Sunye replied with an eyeroll as she pushed Yoobin out of her room and shut the door, a smile playing on her lips as she heard the older girl still standing outside.
“Min Sunye! SunMinye! Minye! You shouldn’t treat your unnie like this!”

The following morning the girls were surprised to find that Ye Eun had left a note saying that she’d gone for a walk.
“Gone for a walk?,” Yoobin asked quizzically. “When has she ever just ‘gone for a walk’?”
“There was that one time, when we first arrived in New York,” Sunye replied as she helped a silent Sohee prepare breakfast.
“That was different,” Yoobin said while shaking her head.
“That’s true,” Sunye quipped. “Wasn’t that more like ‘gone for a walk, want to eat bagels’ or something like that?”
“I’m going for a walk,” Sohee suddenly said after a while.
The unnies watched her quickly gather her phone, wallet and jacket before walking out.
“Why are walks so popular these days?,” Sunye asked.
“Maybe it’s the mood. The love mood,” Yoobin replied earning herself an eyeroll from the leader.
“I don’t know how you can convince people you’re normal unnie I really don’t,” Sunye said with a laugh.
==/==
Just outside the door of the Wonder-apartment Sohee stood staring at her phone.
“To call or not to call,” she said softly to herself.
She flicked through the numbers until she found the one she always subconsciously tried to skip when skimming her address book.
“Call,” she said out loud when she’d decided. A few moments later, after she’d pressed the hang-up button after she’d heard a voice answer Sohee lay her head against the door. “That call did not go well,” she told herself.
Staring once again at the phone, she accused it of betraying her.
“How could you let me make that call? Bad phone!”
As if in reply to her, the phone suddenly started ringing.
“I take it back I take it back!,” Sohee said in a panic as she flipped it open and unwittingly answered it. “Hello?”
“It’s rude to hang up on someone you called!”
“H... Hyun-A...”
“That’s my name! So I heard the mighty Wondergirls had arrived back in town, when do I get to see you again? It’s been so long and you don’t even bother to contact me!”
“It’s not ... like that,” Sohee said as she tried not to stutter, getting even more nervous due to the other girl’s confident laugh on the other line.
“It’s fine it’s fine,” Hyun-A said. “As long as you treat me the next time you see me.”
“Umm, ok I guess I could do that,” Sohee said as she found herself agreeing.
Hyun-A gave a happy squeal on the other end of the line and Sohee smiled to herself. The Hyun-A speaking to her was incredibly different from the sexy 4minute member and successful solo artist adorning posters these days.
“Great, when are you free today?,” Hyun-A asked, breaking Sohee out of her silent reverie.
“What?,” Sohee replied with undisguised surprise.
“Oh come on Sohee that’s cruel! You didn’t just agree and think that you’d never come to see me right?”
“No I’ll see you. I need your help with something anyway,” Sohee replied. ‘Control yourself Ahn Sohee control control control.’
“I’m free now! Meet me at the recording studios ok? I’ll wait for you. Don’t be too late!”
“And she leaves me with a dial tone. Way to not be in control Sohee,” the girl told herself as she made her way to their meeting place.
==/==
Just outside the recording studios-
“Sohee! You’re late!,” Hyun-A said as she pounced on her old friend.
“What did you expect me to do, fly here?,” Sohee asked as coolly as she could.
“Ha, I wouldn’t put it past you to have super powers! So what’s the news? You need my help with something? Is it a love thing? Are you in love?”
“Yes,” Sohee replied, cringing as soon as the word left her lips.
Hyun-A’s mouth gaped at the surprising information.
“What did you say?!!”
“It’s a love thing, shut up!,” Sohee said as she tried to hide her blush.
“I love love things!”
Sohee then spent the next fifteen minutes explaining the situation to the easily excitable Hyun-A.
“Ye Eun-unnie?! With Sunmi?! Ah...”
Sohee frowned at the reaction. It seemed to her that Hyun-A was thinking something strange already.
“What, what ah? What’s that ah?,” Sohee asked the other girl cautiously.
Hyun-A struck a thoughtful pose and began stroking an invisible beard.
“Predictable. You should mix things up a bit, makes the story more exciting.”
‘How can this idiot be so weird and yet so sexy... I mean styled sexy... imaged sexy... for work... why can’t I control my thoughts?!’ Sohee thought to herself as she frantically massaged her temples. “Ya. I didn’t make that up!,” she said aloud when she figured out that Hyun-A was smiling at her while waiting for an answer.
“I have a plan,” Hyun-A stated as Sohee cleared her throat.
“And I have worries,” Sohee said causing the other girl to laugh again. “Does it involve dangerous animals?”
Hyun-A paused for a moment.
Sohee developed a twitch in her right eye.
“No,” Hyun-A decided.
The twitch stopped.
“But it does involve me calling in a few favours,” Hyun-A continued as she pulled out a pad of paper out of nowhere.
“What are you doing now?,” Sohee asked.
“Shh genius at work,” Hyun-A replied.
After a few moments, Hyun-A waved stood up and made a show of clearing her throat.
“Are you ready for this revalation Ahn Sohee? Are you? Are you ready?!”
Sohee took the opportunity to snatch the pad away from her crush and was surprised to find only one line of text written on it.
Hyun-A looked at her expectantly waiting to be showered with praise.
“Huh, huh? What do you think? I’m a genius right? Right?”
Sohee didn’t know whether to laugh or cry so she chose to smack Hyun-A with the pad instead.
“Are you out of your mind?!,” Sohee asked incredulously.
“I might be now since you hit me so hard!”
“Get them married?! That’s what you wrote down?! We can’t just ‘get them married’ Hyun-A. This isn’t a show.”
“Boy have you been out of Korea too long Sohee-ya. Let the Hyun-A effect take you over!”
Sohee made to stand up.
“You’re still an idiot I should leave.”
“Wait wait. Sit there and watch the magic happen!”
Sohee, hoping that most of the ridiculousness had probably passed, sat silently and wondered what else Hyun-A happened to have up her sleeve.
The other girl, sensing that Sohee had been semi-sedated for at least a little while quickly pulled out her cell phone and dialled a number.
“Hello GaIn-unnie? That producer we joked about the last time after we met with kwonnie-oppa? Yeah... what was his number?”
==/==
Meanwhile back at the Wonder-apartments...
“Sunye did you feel that?,” Yoobin asked suddenly.
“That... that weird feeling that something odd is going on?,” Sunye replied. “Does it bother you somehow?”
“It bothers me that we’re not being involved in the planning of whatever it is! We’re the unnies!”
“How are you so sure it’s the younger ones planning it?”
At that moment a tired looking Ye Eun walked through the door.
“Sunye, Yoobin-unnie,” she began.
“Ye Eun!,” Yoobin interrupted before she could say anything else. “Someone, somewhere is probably planning something that might be for someone else and its not us! Is it you?!”
Ye Eun shook her head.
“No... I think... it might be Sohee,” she admitted.
The three unnies sat down on the closest seats they could find.
“Sohee huh. We heard her taking a phone call from Hyun-A outside before she dashed off somewhere,” Yoobin said as the three of them met each other’s eyes before speaking together at once.
“Uh oh.”
==/==
At a modest home...
A young student was finishing up the final draft of her assignment.
“Too much study, not enough time to save the world,” she said to herself as she stretched herself out and reached for her ringing cell phone.
“Helloooo?,” she answered happily welcoming the interruption to her solid study hours.
The sudden bombardment of information from the phone jarred her study tired brain awake.
“Producers? But... I’m on hiatus, not really working right now... just once a week? I don’t... ok... ok thank you. Yes if its for a friend I guess I’ll be there.”

===================================================

Episode Three – C is for Chemistry.
==================================================

“Ok people. Welcome to Advanced Chemistry. The fact that you’re here makes me believe that all of you the best chemistry students in your year. Try not to convince me otherwise.

Hayley takes a look at Caroline who is staring out the window.

“That idiot is in here. I don’t need any further convincing.”

“Stateman, quiet down. President Fuller organise the class into name order and pair up.”

“Yes Miss Puffet,” Sophie said as she immediately stood to do what was asked of her.

In the background however, snickers could clearly be heard.

“Is something funny Stevens?,” the teacher asked as her brow itched irritably.

“No Miss Buffet,” Caroline replied.

“Puffet!,” the teacher corrected as several more students joined in the snickering.

==/==

When she got to the letter ‘S’ Sophie sweat dropped and shot Hayley an apologetic look.

“You have to stay in this class Sophie, I’d advise you to make the right decision,” the blonde said in a warning tone as she watched Sophie try to inform her that she’d been paired up with Caroline.

The redhead smirked at her discomfort.

“Teacher’s orders Stateman,” Caroline said. “Nothing she can do. Isn’t that right President Fuller?”

“Ugh fine whatever just ... don’t mess anything up.”

“No problem,” Caroline easily agreed.

==/==

Moments later...

“Acid! There’s acid on my skin!,” Hayley yelped as she tried to rub it off.

“Don’t rub at it!,” Sophie yelled out as she and Melanie scrambled up off their seats.

Sophie went straight to Hayley’s side to prevent the girl from damaging her skin further while Melanie rushed to the chemicals. After looking through several bottles and finding the one she was looking for, she quickly ran to Hayley and sprayed a small amount on her skin.

Finding the pain stop after just a moment, Hayley looked at Megan in startled surprise.

“What did you just do?,” she asked the girl.

“Sprayed a little something to neutralise the acid.”

“How’d you know how to do that?,” Sophie wondered aloud.

“...It’s not the first time its happened,” Melanie admitted as all looks turned to Caroline.

Lucky for the redhead, another student decided to wander into the classroom right at that moment.

==/==

“Hello Chem class,” Natalie said before confidently sauntering into the classroom.

“Nat, I didn’t know you were taking chem,” Caroline said as if nothing odd had happened.

“Well I wasn’t. And then Horton kicked me out of physics for using that catapult I built out of bbq sticks to fling scrunched up bits of paper at him. It was awesome.”

“It’s been pretty busy here too,” Melanie said.

“Your idiot friend tried to burn me,” Hayley added as Natalie automatically turned her attention to Caroline.

“Caro that’s harsh. It isn’t proven that she’s a witch.”

The teacher rolled her eyes at her student’s antics.

“Natalie sit,” she said before beginning to write notes on the board.

“Woof?,” Natalie joked as she took a seat.

“Miss Fuller is everyone partnered up?,” the teacher inquired.

“Almost,” Sophie replied. “I... forgot about me.”

Hayley immediately raised her hand to offer herself as a partner.

“Excellent. You can keep a close eye on Miss Kruger,” Miss Puffet said as she ignored the blonde. “Two eyes. We don’t want any one else being burned.”

“In my defence Miss Puffet, that other time was Caroline’s fault too,” Natalie replied causing Hayley to blanch.

“Switch switch!,” Hayley said as she tried to pawn off her partner.

“You’re stuck with her Miss Stateman,” Miss Puffet said before returning to the board.

“Stuck with me,” Caroline repeated unnecessarily as she pointed to herself and winked.

0 Chronicles Episode: B is for Biology

==/== Chronicles of My Seventeenth Year ==/ ==

====================================================================

Episode Two B is for Biology
________________________

The first day back at school and Caramel Academy was already buzzing with excitement. There were rumours that the school’s ex Robin Hood-esque rebel type Nat Kruger and its current clean cut Princess were about to go head to head in a bid for ‘top dog’ status.

Little did the students know that one of the people in question had no interest in such things and the other was too busy with actual school activities to even have time to care. Their best friends however had what most people would deem too much free time. That, coupled with the fact that both had a certain knack for creating nothing less than a troublesome atmosphere where ever it was they happened to be resulted in almost daily explosions.

==/==

It was fourth period that found Hayley Stateman and Caroline Stevens sitting in the same biology laboratory. That in itself was a bad, bad sign.

As the teacher droned on about pheromones and insect mating rituals, the school’s resident loudmouth mistakenly took the opportunity to slip her hand into her bag and retrieve a small bottle.

Noticing that Caro’s eyes were trained on Hayley, Nat elbowed the girl and gave a firm headshake in the negative. The answering smirk she got in return however did nothing to comfort her in the slightest.

Just a tiny moment later, a little ‘spritz’ could be heard and both Natalie and Caroline watched as Hayley rubbed the perfume from her wrist to the spot just behind her earlobe.

Natalie made to grab at the girl next to her before anything ridiculous could happen but to her chagrin Caroline who was just a second faster had already made it up and out of her seat.

“Hayley thinks she’s an insect! Hayley the insect wants to mate!,” the redhead chanted as she pointed at Hayley.

The rest of the class broke out into snickers as Hayley stood still holding the small bottle.

“We just had P.E! I did it for you people!,” the blonde huffs loudly, also rising out of her seat.

Nat, who had accepted that the situation had gone too far out of control for her to bother with trying to calm it, extended a silent challenge to Sophie with a small smile and a raised eyebrow.

Sophie who was currently surveying the moment from just beside Hayley stood as a sign of accepting the challenge. Before any sort of sound could leave her mouth however, Caroline had already managed to escalate the situation with use of a little less than two braincells.

“Hayley wants to mate, Hayley wants to mate!,” the redhead chanted as she did a little dance.

In a flash, possibly powered by rage and embarrassment, Hayley lunged at her.

“Shut up or I’ll kill you!,” the blonde said.

“Help!,” Caroline groaned as she tried to pry Hayley off her. “She’s... trying... to mate... with me!”
“I am not!”

Sophie cleared her throat and was about to forge forward with an attempt to control what was happening when she suddenly saw Nat smirking and motioning for her to sit down.

At that moment the teacher who had been making mental calculations to figure out if she felt like interfering finally decided to make the class re-acknowledge her presence by issuing an unexpected order.

“Turn to page twelve,” the teacher said.

“What?,” Sophie croaked out.

“And sit down Miss Fuller there’s no standing during class,” the teacher continued.

Sophie looked at the teacher and tried to decide whether or not she’d heard wrong.

“Mrs. Stapleton I don’t think...”

“What the hell!,” Caro managed to get out. “She’s trying to kill me!”

“Kill you, mate with you... whatever she’s doing she should just do it quickly so we can get on with class,” the teacher said nonchalantly.

Hayley paused for a moment.

“Are you allowed to say that? We’re in class you know,” the blonde asked.

Caroline took the opportunity to try and wriggle free, however Hayley merely tightened her hold on the girl’s collar.

“Let me go! I am immune to your pheromones!”

A moment longer passed before Caroline finally stopped struggling.

“Ah what the hell, just make it quick. We’d prolly have good looking children anyway. Let’s name one Cayley.”

“You’re an idiot!” Hayley said while blushing profusely as she finally let go of Caroline and scampered back to her seat in the most dignified way possible.

“Where is your keeper? You should be leashed!,” she said, throwing the statement across the room.

“Argh... can you hear yourself speak?!,” Caroline replied as she rubbed at her neck.

-
At the sound of the bell, the teacher quickly gathered up her own text books.

“Well most of us made it through that period at least. Well done class,” she said before walking out the door.

Hayley shot a dirty look at Caroline who dared to look as if she’d forgotten what had happened already.

Natalie wandered over to Sophie who was silently packing up her books.

“First mission to control the Cayley,” she said. “Failed.”

“Didn’t see you having better progress,” Sophie replied while trying to keep the annoyance out of her voice.

“If I’d tried there would have been casualties,” Natalie said with a wink before she ran her hand through her hair, effectively keeping that ‘styled-messy’ look. “Anyway, I’m sure you’ll have more chances soon,” she finished with a laugh.

==/==

At the lockers Caro was catching up with Melanie who was looking at her neck with great interest.

“Caro,” Melanie said to get the redhead’s attention.

“Hmm?,” Caroline replied.

“You have bruises on your neck.”

Caroline laughed to herself for a moment as she could see Natalie shaking her head as she came up to the lockers.

“I know right?,” Caroline said. “Who knew biology could be so dangerous.”

0 Fanfiction: Our world we live in [Wondergirls][Yoobin/Sunye] Chapter 3

---
Chapter Three
---

After taking a long, slow walk to try to organise her thoughts, Yoobin arrived home at the Wonderapartment. Assuming the others would still be out, she was surprised to hear annoyed mumbling and the tell-tale sounds of snack food wrappers being opened coming from SunMi’s room.

Following the sound, Yoobin found herself face to face with a frowning Ye Eun sitting on SunMi’s bed.

“Umm. Ye Eun?,” Yoobin started to ask cautiously. “What are you doing?”

Ye Eun looked up.

“Munching,” Ye Eun replied simply. “Want some?”

Yoobin nodded slowly as she sat down next to the other girl.

Ye Eun offered her a bag of snacks and Yoobin accepted with a smile of thanks.

“Isn’t SunMi gonna be mad that you’re spreading crumbs all over her bed?,” Yoobin asked.

“I hope so,” Ye Eun replied. “But then again I think she might just go into alien spy mode and try to figure out which snacks we actually ate here.”

“We?,” Yoobin asked with a joking tone. “So I’m an accomplice now am I?”

“Of course,” Ye Eun replied. “We make the best team.”

Yoobin smiled.

At the silence, Ye Eun wondered about whether or not she should say something about certain feelings that had been revealed during that particular day.

“Unnie,” Ye Eun started softly.

“Hmm?,” Yoobin replied while snacking nervously.

“About Sunye...” Ye Eun continued.

Yoobin almost jumped at hearing the name.

“Why are you suddenly bringing up Sunye?,” Yoobin asked suspiciously.

“Umm, stuff kind of happened today,” Ye Eun replied.

“Does everyone know what happened? Why does everyone know what happened? How can that even be when I hardly know what happened?,” Yoobin countered.

Ye Eun felt giant sweat drops forming at the back of her head.

“It can’t really be helped, we had SunMi and she kind of has these powers...”

“What?,” asked Yoobin.

“I mean. No we don’t know what happened?,” Ye Eun answered while trying her best to sound innocent.

The worried look on Yoobin’s face told her she was failing quite considerably.

“Really it’s true,” Ye Eun insisted, her voice breaking.

Yoobin blinked and Ye Eun sighed.

“Ok. That’s a lie. We all know. There are love feelings. We spied,” Ye Eun said guiltily.

Feeling Yoobin freeze next to her Ye Eun wondered whether or not she should continue. Taking a deep breath and remembering words she’d spoken just a moment before that she scooted closer and put an arm around the older girl’s shoulders.

“We make the best team,” Ye Eun repeated. “No matter what, I just need you to know that I’m on your side. So if you and our fearless leader suddenly or not so suddenly decide that you have feelings for each other then...”

“There’s nothing,” Yoobin said, interrupting the other girl.

Ye Eun heard tears in her voice even before they’d fallen from Yoobin’s eyes.

“Unnie shh I’m here,” Ye Eun said as she comforted Yoobin.

“There’s... I... she doesn’t... there’s nothing,” Yoobin managed to say once her tears had stopped.

“What happened?,” Ye Eun asked.

Wordlessly Yoobin walked out of the room only to return minutes later with her diary in hand. Opening it to a particular page, she handed it to Ye Eun.

“She read it,” Yoobin said. “And then we cried.”

--
Meanwhile, at a nearby cafe the youngest Wondergirls were having troubles of their own.

“SunMi why are we here? I feel anxious and aggravated and the urges to hit you are getting harder and harder to control,” Sohee said.

SunMi turned to look at Sohee with puppy dog eyes.

“Sohee,” she started with the cutest whine she’s ever managed. “Sunye-unnie and Taeyon-unnie. Heeelp.”

Sohee sighed and looked over at the aforementioned unnie’s table.

“SunMi they’re just talking,” Sohee said.

“They’re bonding!,” SunMi replied not so coolly.

“They’re not bonding! They’re probably just talking about leader-y things leaders talk about.”
“Taeyon-unnie...”

Sohee sighed. Moving closer as instinct told her she should take the chance to hit the girl, she was surprised to find all she did was give SunMi a pat on the head.

“Relax. Panic comes if there’s kissing,” Sohee said.

“Kissing?!!!”

“Aaaand here come the hysterics,” Sohee said as she felt a migraine coming on from trying to restrain SunMi.

--

As she finished reading the pages offered her, Ye Eun looked up at Yoobin and gave the older girl the best comforting smile she could muster.

Yoobin returned the smile thankfully and the two shared a hug.

After that however, Ye Eun’s smile turned from comforting, to cheeky, to damn right worrying from Yoobin’s perspective.

“Please call her,” Ye Eun started while subtly taking Yoobin’s phone out of the jacket lying next to her. “You need to call her. If you don’t call weird things will start happening as soon as Sohee and SunMi come home and believe me, once those start you’ll really be wishing you just picked up the phone and called her.”

“What?,” Yoobin asked with a squeak. “You said you were on my side!”

“I am! Of course I am. Girl loves the girl, girl gets the girl, friend stays safe from SohMi-pair. Here’s your phone. I dialled.”

Yoobin didn’t know what to say and instead just stood there looking at the smiling Ye Eun with a disbelieving expression on her face.

“Ye Eun, I haven’t seen you all day. Please tell me you didn’t spend the entire time learning bad habits from the youngest ones,” Yoobin asked.

Ye Eun shut her eyes tightly in an attempt to push out visions of herself chasing SunMi around for a good part of the day. ‘It hurts how I can’t deny her accusations,’ she thought with a wry smile.

Suddenly a rather unfamiliar voice interrupted the two girl’s thoughts.

“Hello? Sunye’s phone,” Taeyon answered cheerfully.

“Oh crap she picked up,” Yoobin said in a rather alarmed fashion. “What do I do now?”

“Hello?,” the voice continued.

Yoobin pressed a button before sharing a multiple blink look with Ye Eun.

“I hung up,” Yoobin said.

“Indeed,” Ye Eun replied while nodding.

Yoobin let herself fall backwards on the bed and started rolling around.

“A girl answered,” she said.

“Which was generally what we were expecting,” Ye Eun replied, still nodding.

“She was perky,” Yoobin said just before they were interrupted by a cell phone ring.

“Oh no she called back!,” Yoobin said in a rather alarmed fashion as she fought the urge to flee.

Ye Eun smiled and rolled her eyes.

“It’s mine, hold on,” Ye Eun said.

After seeing who it was that was actually calling, Ye Eun paled before shooting Yoobin a pleading look.

“It’s Sohee. You pick it up,” Ye Eun said.

“Hello?,” Yoobin said into the phone as she took her turn to roll her eyes as Ye Eun shrugged sheepishly.

“Ye Eun-unnie!,” Sohee said. “There’s a little bit of a complication taking place right now. SunMi’s not really being much of a help.”

“Taeyon-unniie...”

“Umm, actually she’s fan-girling all over the place,” Sohee continued. “Hello? Unnie? Please just come! We’re at that restaurant we always go to when it’s my turn to cook, I’m gonna need someone’s help to drag SunMi out of here in case security comes.”

“Taeyon-unnie... kissing... nooo.”

“SunMi! Get yourself together woman! Hey where are you putting your hands?,” Sohee pleaded.

“You’re the one that tackled me!,” SunMi shot out. “I need to prevent possible romantic happenings from happening right now!”

“That is not what you’re doing right now! SunMi! hands!”

Yoobin and Ye Eun shared a look before Yoobin pressed a button.

“I hung up again,” Yoobin said as she handed the phone back.

“Did you hear somebody say Taeyon?,” Ye Eun asked as she accepted it.

--

“Hey what the..,” Sohee said as she and SunMi came to a stand-still. “Taeyon-unnie’s alone over there,” she continued while poking SunMi in the side, which was rather a feat in itself as she was restraining the girl with both arms.

“Great! Should I pounce?,” SunMi questioned all too seriously.

“What? No!,” Sohee replied quickly.

“Ok,” a visibly relaxed SunMi said.

“SunMi?”

“Yeah?”

“Your mood swings. They’re kind of amazing,” Sohee said honestly.

“Thanks,” SunMi replied.

“No problem.”

Suddenly the girls were interrupted by someone clearing their throat from a rather close distance.

“Explanations please,” Sunye said.

Sohee gulped and grabbed the girl on her left in order to foil SunMi’s attempt to crawl away.

“We were hungry and umm this is a restaurant in which one eats so here we are,” Sohee said. “... hiding. Without food. I should learn to lie better,” she finished practically for herself alone.

“Why are you on a date with Taeyon unnie?!,” SunMi asked with a pout.

“A what?,” Sunye asked genuinely surprised.

“You already have a possible girlfriend!,” SunMi continued.

“I do?”

As Sunye was delivering this question, the phone at Sohee’s side started ringing and the girl picked it up whole heartedly believing that whoever it was couldn’t possibly be as odd as the ones having a conversation in front of her.

“Sohee? Hello? Its Ye Eun.”

“Why do you say that I have a potential girlfriend? And how can you say I’m on a date,” Sunye continued asking.

“Sunye? Is that Sunye?,” Ye Eun yelled through the phone. “Sunye! What are you doing on a date with Taeyon?”

“I’m on a what? Why is everyone saying the same weird things?,” Sunye asked.

“If she wants to be on a date with certain perky people then that’s just fine by me,” Yoobin mumbled as she made to walk out of SunMi’s room.

“Unnie gosh hold on,” Ye Eun said as she followed the older girl. “Sunye! Only date one person at a time!,” she yelled into the phone.

“Make that one person not Taeyon-unnie!,” SunMi said.

“I’m not dating her!,” Sunye replied.

“Stop stop everyone!,” Sohee managed to get out through the ruckus. “Do you hear me Ye Eun-unnie? We, as in all of us, are going to have lunch. Here in this restaurant. Just get here!,” she finished before hanging up.

--
Ye Eun followed Yoobin who had now taken to curling up on the couch.

“We’re going to lunch,” Ye Eun said.

“No, you’re going to lunch,” Yoobin replied.

“Unnie, we’re going to lunch,” Ye Eun insisted.

“You’re going to lunch,” Yoobin countered.

“Min-SunPerky,” Ye Eun said simply.

“Ok, we’re going to lunch.”

“Thank you.”

--
“Wow all the Wondergirls! I think this is the first time we’ve ever been out just for fun,” Taeyon said cheerfully.

The Wondergirls nodded and gave their best smiles.

‘I think that’s because most of us try to avoid the awkward,’ Ye Eun thought.

‘She’s so perky I kind of want to smack her,’ Yoobin thought. ‘Oh God, I’m turning into Sohee.’

‘This person thinks this is fun?!,’ Sohee thought. ‘This isn’t fun. Not doing this is fun!’

‘Taeyon-unnie is so good looking,’ SunMi thought suddenly as she looked at the girl. ‘I wonder where my moustache is.’

“Sunye here’s your phone that you told me to hold. Someone called earlier, I don’t know if I was fast enough to pick it up though they didn’t really say anything,” Taeyon said.

“Thanks,” Sunye said as she accepted the phone.

Looking through the call records Sunye tried to conceal a smile as she saw the call was from Yoobin. ‘She wanted to talk to me?,’ she thought.

Sunye then tried to meet the girl’s eyes, unfortunately for her Yoobin was busy dealing with unwelcome things running through her mind.

‘Oh my God they touched!,’ Yoobin and SunMi thought simultaneously.

‘And why the heck was Sunye so smiley just because Taeyon handed her a phone?!,’ Yoobin’s thoughts continued.

Ye Eun and Sohee saw sparks fly in Yoobin and SunMi’s eyes as the two leader’s hands brushed casually in the exchange.

‘This... could prove dangerous,’ Ye Eun thought.

‘Exit plans,’ thought Sohee. ‘Need need need emergency exit plans just in case this doesn’t work out like I thought it would.’

“So,” Taeyon began as she tried to make conversation with the rest of the girls. “Who’s got an interesting love life these days? Don’t be afraid to share, we’re all girls here,” she said jokingly as she playfully wrapped an arm around Sunye’s shoulders and smiled brightly at the girl.

Ye Eun’s mouth dropped. ‘Ok, so if I kill her now, the chances of me dying later on due to a Yoobin-unnie or SunMi caused explosion decrease considerably. Wow, am I turning into Sohee?!’

‘Love life?!!,’ Yoobin thought incredulously. ‘Is she flaunting MY Sunye in front of me?!, wait what did I just think? I really hope no one just heard me think.’

SunMi, who was sitting on her left side looked over at Yoobin and gave a questioning look.

“Psst Yoobin-unnie,” she said as she leant over. “Did you just think that Taeyon-unnie was flaunting your Sunye in front of you?”

Yoobin’s jaw dropped as SunMi continued speaking.

“I really think I just heard you think,” the younger girl reported with an innocent smile.

Sunye who was sitting quite far away from Yoobin in the scheme of things wondered what she was doing with SunMi’s lips so close to her ear.

“Sunye?,” Taeyon questioned. “Why are you frowning?”

“Me? Oh, umm,” Sunye stammered out. “I have a tiny headache, I think I might be dehydrated.”

“Oh,” Taeyon replied. “Let me get you some...”

“Water!,” Yoobin said shooting out of her seat. “Umm, water... please,” she said to the waiter rushing over with an embarrassed look on her face.

When he returned with glasses and a pitcher Taeyon somehow managed to be the fastest to the pitcher and proceeded to calmly hand Sunye her glass, smiling at the girl as she did so.

Scooting ever closer to Sunye, Taeyon brushed hair away from the girl’s face with a free hand before casually returning the arm around Sunye’s shoulders.

SunMi blinked as she surveyed the scene.

‘What’s going on?,’ she thought to herself. ‘This isn’t Taeyon unnie.’

Surveying the looks of those around her she spotted a nervous Sunye, an incensed Yoobin, an inwardly freaking out Ye Eun and a rather calm Sohee. Meeting the girl’s eye, SunMi shot her a questioning look.

Sohee replied with a small nod directing SunMi back to the action at hand.

‘Ridiculous,’ thought SunMi with a small smile as she directed her attention back to the others seated at the table at Sohee’s cue.

“Want me to massage your neck?,” Taeyon asked as she continued to give Sunye her full attention. “It might help you to relieve some stress,” she said as she trailed her hand from Sunye’s neck to about halfway down her back.

“Why does there need to be public neck massaging?!,” Yoobin asked before she could control herself.

Taeyon shrugged nonchalantly. “Well I suppose it doesn’t need to be so public if Sunye would like to go somewhere else.”

“As if I’d let her go with you!,” Yoobin continued. “Why would you get to massage Sunye? Why are you even sitting so close to her? It should be me!”

At the outburst, Taeyon removed her arm slowly from around Sunye’s neck and moved slightly away from the girl. Meeting Yoobin’s eyes, she threw the other girl a smile.

“It should be me,” Yoobin repeated, almost as if she had said it only for herself.

Shooting permanently out of seat, Yoobin placed a hand on Sunye’s arm, wordlessly dragging the girl out of her seat and out of the restaurant at breakneck speed.

“I agree,” Taeyon said.

Ye Eun, while wearing a question-mark on her face, didn’t even bother trying to rationalise the situation.

Taeyon and Sohee smiled at each other and SunMi shook her head.

“So, how did I do?” Taeyon asked Sohee cheekily.

Ye Eun gasped. “Wait wait,” she asked with a floored expression. “What just happened here?”

SunMi stood up and proceeded to point at Taeyon and Sohee respectively.

“Sneaky people are sitting in front of me!,” she accused while jumping up and down.

“Please, please tell me that gigantic stressful excuse for a food eating excursion wasn’t a planned event,” Ye Eun pleaded.

“What can I say,” Taeyon wondered outloud as she re-read a message from Sohee. “Cell phones are useful.”

SunMi was still jumping and pointing as Ye Eun continued.

“Sohee, why aren’t you saying anything? Why are you and Taeyon smiling like that? Why is the sky blue? Why do we have so much free time today? Why am I not eating cake? Waiter! Please just bring me cake!,” she finished while laying her head on the table.

Finally feeling finished with her jumping and pointing, SunMi sat down next to Sohee and pointed at the girl.

“You planned things while I was hyperventilating,” SunMi said matter-of-factly.

“Well yeah,” Sohee agreed. “I figured it would be up to me in the end. I am an actress you know.”

Sunye found herself running out of the restaurant because of confusion and embarrassment. Then she found herself running through the streets because she thought she and Yoobin were going somewhere.

After that she realised that the girl was holding her hand and it didn’t matter where they were going because they were together. Then Sunye ran because she was happy.

When Yoobin finally stopped, the two girls found themselves at a small playground where there were only a few children playing.

Taking seats on the swing-set, Yoobin and Sunye sat side by side, wordlessly holding hands.

‘Please don’t let this turn awkward,’ Yoobin thought in her head over and over.

“What are you thinking?,” Sunye asked gently.

“Hm? Oh I’m just hoping this doesn’t turn awkward. I mean, umm...”

Sunye laughed and Yoobin gave her a sheepish shrug.

“Sorry,” Yoobin said with a small smile.

“We ran pretty far today,” Sunye said.

“Especially me,” Yoobin replied seriously. “I’m sorry about before. I’m sorry I didn’t stay and listen to what you had to say.”

“It’s ok. I know I’m not very good at expressing myself when it comes to situations like this. But you should know... when I read ... all that... I was happy.”

Yoobin nodded.

“I just processed it badly you know,” Sunye continued as she squeezed Yoobin’s hand in order to get the girl to look at her. “Because, in reality, I... also... umm.”

Yoobin felt a blush colouring her cheeks as she watched Sunye try to form her words nervously.
“I... also...,” Sunye began again.

Taking a meaningful breath in, Yoobin brought her eyes up to stare deeply into Sunye’s effectively silencing the girl.
Sunye blushed shyly.

“Are you ok?,” Yoobin asked in a whisper.

“I’m kind of too nervous to breathe,” Sunye replied, still blushing.

Yoobin nodded and awarded her a small smile.

“Me too,” she said as she leaned closer.

Unsure that either she or Sunye was ready for what she planned on doing, Yoobin moved her lips slightly to the side of her original target and planted a gentle kiss near the corner of Sunye’s mouth.

Sunye, whose eyes had been closed since Yoobin started her lean curved her lips firstly into a smile and then a sort of annoyed grimace as she heard a message come through on her phone.

Reaching for it with the complete intention of switching it off Sunye found that the message was from SunMi and couldn’t help clicking the ‘read’ button.

“She missed,” SunMi had said in the message.

“Unbelievable,” Sunye whispered as Yoobin shot her a questioning look before the girl got a message on her phone.

“How could you miss?,” Sohee asked in the message.

Yoobin thought she was going to die of embarrassment as Sunye searched the surrounding area for their younger counterparts.

Finally finding them, courtesy of SunMi’s inability to stay still, Sunye wandered over with Yoobin still attached to her.
“Can’t believe you three,” Sunye said.

“Especially you Ye Eun,” Yoobin continued. “You’re supposed to stop the young ones from doing weird things like messaging people when they’re...”

“Canoodling in public?,” Sohee and SunMi asked together causing the Yoobin and Sunye to blush an even darker shade.

“I tried to stop them,” Ye Eun said as the group started walking back to their apartments. “I should have just told them to take photos.”

Sunye and Yoobin stopped in their tracks shooting pleading looks at Ye Eun.

“Like me,” Ye Eun said with a smirk while waving her cell phone.
